Terms and Conditions for Spluxe Cars

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the rental of vehicles from Spluxe Cars, located at 329 Barnes St, Pittsburgh, PA 15221. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to comply with these terms. Bookings can be made in person at our physical location or online through our website.

2. Rental Eligibility

– Renters must be at least 21 years of age.

– Renters must possess a valid driver’s license, held for at least 1 year.

– Renters must provide a valid credit card in their name for the payment and deposit.

3. Booking and Payment

– Bookings can be made online or in person.

– A deposit is required at the time of booking, refundable upon the vehicle’s return in satisfactory condition.

– Full payment is required before the vehicle is handed over to the renter.

– Accepted payment methods include credit cards, debit cards, and cash.

4. Cancellations and Modifications

– Cancellations must be made by calling us directly.

– Cancellations made 24 hours before the scheduled pick-up time will incur no charge.

– Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the pick-up time will be charged a cancellation fee equal to one day’s rental.

– For bookings made within 24 hours of the scheduled pick-up time, a 1-hour grace period is allowed for cancellations without charge.

– Modifications to bookings are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

5. Vehicle Use

– The renter agrees to use the vehicle in a careful and lawful manner.

– Vehicles are only to be driven by the renter or additional drivers authorized and listed in the rental agreement.

– The vehicle may not be used for racing, towing, or any illegal activities.

– No smoking is permitted in the vehicle. Refer to the Smoking and Cleaning Violations section.

– Pets are only allowed with prior permission and must be kept in a cage at all times while inside the vehicle. Refer to the Smoking and Cleaning Violations section.

6. Mileage and Fuel Policy

– Daily rental rates include a mileage limit and charges for additional miles, as specified in the Rental Agreement. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for details on the mileage limit and the rate for additional distance.

– Vehicles are rented with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank. If not, a refueling charge will apply. Please refer to the Rental Agreement for the refueling charge details.

7. Insurance and Liability

– Car Renter accepts that they have liability insurance that is equivalent to or better than the minimum financial responsibility as required by state law.

– This contract offers, for an additional charge, a Renter Collision Protection to cover your financial responsibility for damage to the rental vehicle.

– The purchase of a Renter Collision Protection is optional and may be declined.

– You are advised to carefully consider whether to sign this waiver if you have rental vehicle collision coverage provided by your credit card or collision insurance on your own vehicle.

– Before deciding whether to purchase the Renter Collision Protection, you may wish to determine whether your own vehicle insurance affords you coverage for damage to the rental vehicle and the amount of deductible under your own insurance coverage.

8. Vehicle Maintenance and Condition

– The renter is responsible for checking the vehicle’s condition upon pick-up and return.

– Any existing damage should be documented in the rental agreement.

– The renter must return the vehicle in the same condition it was rented, aside from normal wear and tear.

9. Smoking and Cleaning Violations

– No smoking of any type is permitted in the vehicle. A $150 smoking fee will be charged for violations.

– No pets are allowed in the vehicle. Any evidence of pet hair will lead to a $150 cleaning fee.

– If the vehicle is returned excessively dirty, a $150 cleaning fee will apply.

10. Return Policy

– Vehicles must be returned by the agreed date and time specified in the rental agreement.

– Late returns will incur additional charges.

11. Privacy Policy

– Spluxe Cars values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. Personal information collected during the rental process will be used solely for rental purposes and not shared with third parties, except as required by law.

12. Governing Law

– These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Pennsylvania. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Pittsburgh, PA.

13. Amendments

– Spluxe Cars reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will take effect immediately.
